9/11 Memorial Bike Ride

9/11 Memorial Charity Bike Ride

A ride to end PTSD related suicide

On September 10, 2023 Working Dogs for Warriors will be hosting the 4th Annual 9/11 Memorial  Charity Bike Ride

To honor the courageous acts of service members from September 11th, 2001, we dedicate our mission to ending veteran/first responder suicide throughout the year.

Working Dogs for Warriors offers multiple life-saving programs for suicide intervention to directly address the post traumatic stressors endured by service members.

Our programs include:

  • An engaging service dog program paired with wellness programs to support the recovery of service members
  • Warrior fellowship - a weekly support group
  • 24-hour helpline app for service members in our programs
  • Wellness courses for suicide prevention and intervention (including ASIST)
  • Warrior pantry - to provide free essential household, hygiene, and food products throughout the year
  • Care Team K9 program to strengthen crisis intervention
  • Outreach opportunities such as resource events hosted by WDFW and our annual Service to our Community Conference
  • Education and seminars
  • Workshops such as K9 CPR and first aid
  • Community service projects such a food drives for families in need
  • Reading events with our service animals to strengthen reading comprehension skills amongst young scholars while positively influencing their socio-emotional development
  • And more!

However, we can only provide these programs for our service members with your support. Together, we will directly impact the lives of service members suffering from post traumatic stress. Our life-saving efforts care for the mental health of veterans and first responders all year and you can help end suicide in our community for these brave men and women.

Working Dogs For Warriors is looking for sponsors interested in partnering with us in our mission to support the “Warriors” in our communities. Are you ready to join Team Working Dogs?

Our sole mission at WDFW is to support our Warriors by providing service dogs and training to veterans and first responders. These everyday Hero’s have lived a life of public service. They work tirelessly to ensure our safety and well-being from threats - at home and abroad. Unfortunately, these jobs often lead to development of Post  Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

At WDFW, we work to combat the effects of PTSD through K9 companions. In addition to the relationship developed between the handler and the K9, a family is formed among the handlers. United through their common experience with trauma and tragedy, they are able to find solace in each other’s company. Through the dog training, companionship with their peers, and participating in our outreach programs, we are able to ease their daily burdens and assist them in re-engaging with the “civilian world”. Your support will allow us to continue our mission. In turn, these individuals can continue to serve proudly in our communities.

Thank you and Semper Fidelis,

Michael Welsh
